Toby Damisch's Priorities for a Second Term as Douglas County Assessor
Customer Service
Provide world-class customer service using every available channel. We identify our evolving customers and meet them where they are: online live chat, in-person public assistance, direct phone response, personally managed email, text and AI agents.
Technology
Leading-edge, affordable technology that improves service and operations. We will keep applying current technology responsibly and within budget to property search, resident communications, assessment appeals, online services and data availability.
Accessibility
Easy access and easy petitioning. Your Douglas County Assessor strives to be accessible to anyone, anywhere, combining a full set of online and digital services with traditional customer service for every type of customer.
Advocacy
A voice for homeowners as property taxes keep rising. The property tax explosion that hit Colorado in 2023 never needed to happen and was mismanaged by single-party control in Denver. I will keep acting as a voice for homeowners, who face record costs of homeownership, including taxes.
Fiscal Restraint
Setting the example for spending in local government. In my first three years as Douglas County Assessor, I returned more than $1,000,000 to the County General Fund, to be used for policing and potholes.
Unmatched Experience
Building teams of professionals from leadership through staff. I have more than 30 years of experience in real estate appraisal, title, GIS, public policy, public administration, assessment appeals, database technology, information accessibility and advocacy for homeowners and small businesses. Our staff brings centuries of combined experience to the most complex assessment issues.
